2022 Asian Games To Feature E-Sports

That’s right. If the news that e-sports were being granted scholarships at select schools in the U.S. excited you, we’re taking things up a notch.

The Olympic Council of Asia (otherwise known as gaming’s greatest beings) has announced that competitive gaming will officially be a medal sport at the 2022 Asian Games. For those that don’t know, these games are the second most popular in Asia, falling right behind the Olympics.

Think martial arts, RTS, and online battle arena games.

It looks like the world is catching on to the popularity of gaming recognition. Will we ever reach South Korea’s status, awarding fame and millions of dollars to champions? We’re well on our way.
