Well, AnimeJapan is officially over and done with. It was a wild and fantastic weekend for anime fans just like previous years. If you were busy over the weekend and didn’t get a chance to watch the news feeds like a hawk, here are some of the highlights of things that were announced at the event.
New Aquarion Anime
We knew pretty early on that Aquarion was going to be getting a special anniversary project but finally those details were revealed with the announcement that the franchise would be getting a new TV series titled Aquarion Logos which will air this coming July.
Classroom Crisis Announced
While we don’t know much about it, a brand new original anime was announced at AnimeJapan which is titled Classroom Crisis. The announcement came with the first key visual which showed off the two main female characters and I’m already pretty curious about what the story with this one is.
Gangsta Key Visual and Promo Video
One of the grittiest and darkest manga titles that I’ve read within the last couple of years has been Gangsta. When it was revealed a few months ago that it would be getting an anime adaptation I was ecstatic and when I saw the first key visual and promotional video debut over the AnimeJapan weekend I was floored. This is going to be a series to keep your eyes on!
Seraph of the End Info
Another series that has had people buzzing for the last few months is the dark vampire series seraph of the End. At the event people were treated to tons of new info regarding the series including new character art and a trailer. The series premieres on April 4th in Japan and I know I’ll be watching.
Valkyrie Drive Project
When it came to making people turn their heads and pay attention though the award goes to Marvelous who announced a special project which will include a TV anime series and video games. Titled Valkyrie Drive, the franchise will feature girls who turn into weapons and do… ahem, other things. More details will be announced for this franchise soon so be sure to keep your eyes open for details as they emerge.
