Food Wars! isn’t that complicated of a show—it’s a cooking anime where the food makes people’s clothes fly off —but like any good food show, it’ll make your pants feel tighter.
Terrifying fan service aside, it definitely features food that you’ll end up drooling over. Today, I thought we’d look back at some of the best dishes from the first two seasons of Food Wars! Additionally, as an added bonus, I’ll provide links to recipes for these dishes. So, let’s discover what makes my clothes fly off.
|Roast Pork, Just Kidding
This is the second dish in the show and is responsible for all of the naked people in the photo above. It’s also known as “Gotcha Roast Pork” and “Pseudo Roast Pork” because if it isn’t obvious by now, this isn’t a real pork roast. While our protagonist, Soma Yukihira, is in a jam, he creates this bacon covered mashed potatoes dish to essentially “save his restaurant.” (It’s a spoiler for episode one. Get over it.)
This is absolutely the easiest recipe to replicate on this list. Go for it!
|Kozuyu Chicken Soy Sauce Ramen
Made by Megumi Tadokoro during the Autumn Election Tournament. There was no way ramen wasn’t going on this list and Megumi’s makes the list due to extreme mouth flooding. It is a chicken-stock ramen sinfully brimming with vegetables.
|Quail Stuffed with Risotto and Eggs: Brazen Youngster Style
Soma Yukihira plucked a recipe from heaven’s cookbook itself. Ironically, we’ll all be going to hell as a result of this dish. It looks decadent and gets more expensive the longer you stare at it.
|Curry Risotto Omurice
This dish’s reveal made me make noises most would consider fake in adult films. Once again, Soma Yukihara is responsible for this dish. This Curry Risotto Omurice dish appeared after approximately 3.2 billion other curry dishes in the Autumn Elections Tournament, and yet it still somehow made my brain melt.
While most of the recipe looks simple, the omelet looks impossible. Good luck, everyone!
|Kofta Kebab Burger
Christ have mercy! This dish was born during the Autumn Election Tournament by spice-master and man of everyone’s dreams, Akira Hayama. I was quite unimpressed watching him make this burger during the show, but the reveal shredded my last 8 pairs of underwear. Why have I never had a Kofta Burger? My life is unfulfilled until I eat it, and that is why it is #1 on my list.
The recipe is easy, but good luck getting your hands on Doner Kebab!
