The PreCure franchise is already demonstrating just how big it’s going for its 15th anniversary. From a drop-in from the original team to awesome merch, the magical girl show is celebrating in style.

But the big question is: how many magical girls can share a screen?

According to the makers of PreCure, the answer is at least 55!

We Have Max Heart

The OG PreCure team, Cure Black and Cure White, recently appeared on Hugtto! PreCure. The arrival marked a major point in the franchise’s history: the first time two different teams have appeared together within the TV series, save for the “baton pass” videos between seasons. Nagisa and Honoka’s appearance in episodes 21 and 22 will apparently lead into the plot of the team-up movie.

From what we know so far, all the teams between the first and most recent have been chibi-fied by a new film-exclusive villain. Fortunately, the originals are back to help Hana and her team restore their allies to normal.

Magical Girl Dance Party

Ever since Fresh PreCure in 2009, ED dances have been an integral part of the franchise. Each season has at least one, usually two. And the various eras gather for an end credit dance at the end of each team-up movie.

So, what does 55 magical girls sharing a movie screen look like? Well, a bit like this:

Yep, that’s everybody — with the exception of Cure Echo! Sharp-eyed and hardcore PreCure fans may note that the film-exclusive Cure, voiced by Mamiko Noto, is nowhere to be seen in this picture. Then again, with all the effort they put in just to get the main teams situated, we can’t really hold that against them.

Eiga Hugtto! PreCure ♡ Futari wa PreCure All Stars Memories comes out in Japanese cinemas this October.

Are you ready for the magical girl invasion?
