Kausus’ Top E3 2017 Picks

e3 gaming lineup announcements

It’s that time of year where gamers far a wide gather behind screens to celebrate all things gaming. It just so happens I have been wasting away, following each E3 press conference. I’ve gotta say, the lineup is looking pretty damn juicy.

First, we received the announcement that many gamers have longed for: the Shadow of The Colossus HD Remaster. This is the epitome of a cult classic game and would go on to forever cement the name Japan Studios in all gamer libraries. The premise of the game is quite simple. You control a character simply called Wander and must traverse a large and forbidden land to defeat 16 massive beings known as Colossai. His ultimate reward in doing so is to bring life back to a girl named Mono. The gameplay for the time was utterly ground breaking and massively entertaining. This title is currently slated for a earl 2018 release.

Next up: Monster Hunter World. This is a series that has had a long and varied history. Having been a massive Sony PSP and Nintendo 3DS hit over the years, now we finally get to play it on Sony’s PS4, Microsoft’s Xbox-One and PC. The premise of the game is pretty simple. You hunt monsters, with the larger goal of defeating a greater monster. You can use all matter of weapons, items and friends in order to make your hunt successful. As of right now, I can say that the release window will be early 2018.

And last but not least, Ni No Kuni 2. Admittedly, I never got the chance to play the first iteration of the game itself; however, this second one looks just as magical. The series is a typical JRPG down to its core workings, yet it takes on a very anime-esque charm to it. This new title has us controlling a usurped king on the road to redemption and reclamation. The game is taking a lot of cues from older Final Fantasy games and adding a fresh coat of sophistication to it. I’m looking forward to playing it this November 10th, 2017.
