Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo has become home to its very own pop-up maid cafe, named the Arcane Maid Cafe. The venue grants patrons a taste of the phenomenon made popular in Akihabara, with an opportunity to be served by beautiful anime-inspired character/staff.

The Arcane Maids went the extra mile this weekend, when the staff adopted a Kakegurui theme.

Event hosts went all out, with a stage show , card and tabletop games (albeit with much lower stakes). Just in case you’re unfamiliar with the anime, check out the trailer below –

The cafe’s maids took on the identities of the show’s student council members for guests. Head Maid Beari remarked that the event was “wildly successful.”

Guests and academy students played a variety of card games, including indian poker, blackjack, double concentration, and hold’em poker. Other games included Jenga, Shark Attack, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and more. Guests used complementary chocolate coins to play against each other.

Here’s a peek at everything you missed:

The group is already planning their next event in Little Tokyo; this time it’s rumored to be magical girl themed. What’s YOUR dream themed-café??
