Japan always comes through when it comes to interesting themed-snacks. Things keep on getting better: last week, McDonald’s Japan announced their new Pikachu McFlurry.
It’s flavored with bananas and chocolate (just like the real Pikachu), but that’s actually not the best part. The treat is served in one of six different possible Pikachu cups: Enter ultra adorable Pikachu faces. It’s on sale for a limited-time only, so boogie over to Japan ASAP.
I’m honestly surprised this isn’t a regular standby on the menu. McDonald’s and Japan are both world powers when it comes to the combination of marketing food and product placement.
Now I’m waiting for a Gundam hot fudge sundae, a Naruto McCafe’ or a Dragon Ball Z Kamehameha! McMuffin… I’d pay for that. Japan came up with the pop-up Spider-Man cafe, why didn’t McDonald’s make a Spider-Man slushie? …or an Iron Man Big Mac?
I’m a little sad that the U.S. version of McDonald’s doesn’t do more things like this. I mean all the excitement we get here is when they occasionally decide to bring back the McRib.
