Anime’s eternal bad boy is back, and he’s bringing some friends.
With idol group Momoiro Clover Z now a four-person unit, there’s room for one more, right? Check out what happens when the two fan favorites join forces:
The 2018 Crayon Shin-chan movie goes for everyone’s favorite tasty sodium-filled treat: ramen. But in this case, it’s a seriously bad batch.
In Kung Fu Boys ~Ramen Rebellion~, the neighborhood kids start getting violent after chowing down on ramen from the nefarious Black Panda restaurant. Shin-chan and friends begin learning a new martial arts technique — and their timing couldn’t be better.
Singing the jingles for the restaurant is a wicked four-girl team known as Kuroguro Clover Z — yeah, they just went there. What will they end up doing in the film? Are they as violent as the ramen-nomming monsters their shop creates? We’ll just have to wait to find out.
Momoka, the green-suited member of MomoClo, gave her last performance with the group last month. Kanako, Shiori, Ayaka, and Reni are still going strong, though. And they’re working hard for the new film!
The group will not only be performing the theme “Xiao Yi Xiao” for the film, but also insert songs. Oh, and jingles for Black Panda Ramen, of course. Plus, they’ll be voicing their anime counterparts, Kuroguro Clover Z, and making an animated appearance in the film.
It’s a lot of work for an idol group, but with their history, there’s no doubt they’re up for it. The group has provided themes for the returns of both Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball in recent years, as well as collaborating with everyone from KISS to Lady Gaga. It seems, no matter how many members strong they are, Momoiro Clover Z won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
Crayon Shin-Chan: Kung-Fu Boys ~Ramen Rebellion~ opens this April in Japan.
