As spotted by our eagle eye shoppers on Sony’s Japanese Store, the immensely popular Osomatsu-san is getting a shiny, limited edition Sony PS Vita. This thing has our wallets opening faster than we could have ever anticipated them to.
This version will launch with the game, which itself has six different packaging versions for each of the sextuplets… and will have a special packaging to show off that silver glam. The game is expected to launch in Japan on June 29th. Great thing: all PS Vita come factory unlocked. Going for 28,450 Yen (or roughly 262USD), this device will set you back some, but bragging rights are worth it.
The special themed packages for each sextuplet will run 13,284 Yen (roughly 129USD) for each copy and will carry the same bonuses as the other packs, minus the shiny PS Vita. What you get for the money is a special theme, copy of the game, and the console (plus happiness).
The anime Osomatsu-san follows the day to day failures of the Matsu Sextuplets as they live out their meager lives mooching off of their parents. Personally, this anime was a favorite of ours back when it aired in 2015 for its crude humor and lovable characters (determined to ruin their own lives… unintentionally of course). The anime can best be classified as a slice of life as it follows the sextuplets through their daily routines. The anime is the successor to the original 1966 anime Osomatsu-kun; which portrayed the sextuplets in their younger years.
No actual information itself has surfaced on what the game will allow the players to do. We are personally hoping that the game takes an open world JRPG approach, but that remains to be seen when actual game play footage surfaces.
