Since Hanyu is a well known fan of the Tokyo Ghoul series, he was interviewed by the character’s voice actor Natsuki Hanae on TV Tokyo‘s post-Olympic special program. Best part? Hanae took on the role of Ken Kaneki during the interview and Hanyu responded to him as if he was the character. Hanae told Hanyu that he also watched his program and that it was a “wonderful battle.” Hanyu responded that he was embarrassed but thanked him for the praise.
At the end of the interview, Hanyu took his love for the character one step further and invited Kaneki to eat him.
For the uninitiated, Kaneki is a human who, after he is transformed into a ghoul, has an insatiable to desire to eat human flesh.
The anime series’ official Twitter account responded to Hanyu’s unusual interview. The account staff wrote that they watched the program and they will do their best to create a new program for Hanyu to enjoy when Tokyo Ghoul:re premieres on April 3.

Tokyo Ghoul manga creator Sui Ishida posted an illustration of Hanyu on Twitter last week. The illustration appears to recreate an image of Hanyu from his Olympic performance in the men’s free skate…
