Sometimes You Need a Professional

Every now and then on Viewster we have the honor to work with people from all over the globe who love anime and movies just as much as we do. This week, we’ve got a fresh review from Sean over at Geek Eire Podcast. Check them out, read their review, and give them a shout out on Twitter at @geekeirepodcast! Hope you all enjoy!

Golgo 13 is series based on the biggest selling and ongoing manga of the same name.

The story is about Duke Togo (Golgo 13), the world’s greatest hitman. For 3 million dollars he will eliminate any target. Golgo always gets his man no matter the target or the difficulty.

Golgo 13 is a reminder of an bygone era of animation where ultra violence gritty storylines ruled over our anime genres. Golgo was one of the most macho men you looked up to, whether making love to a woman or drinking coffee, he always has a face for action.

Golgo is a series of stand alone episodes. Each week brings us to a different place and cast, that interacts with Golgo, either as his customers or his target. When the series starts, he is tasked to take care of a terrorist on a plane from just over two kilometers – something that’s almost impossible. However, he pulls it off with such ease and comfort by shooting over the SWAT snipers that are half that distance and laying in wait. It’s these kinds scenarios that make the show so iconic whether no matter how impossible or difficult his missions are, we always amazed with how he is able to pull off the most impossible hits.

The real magic of this show is the suspense and build up that takes place in each episode. It’s not just women, bullets, and explosives in this series, music and dialogue play a huge part as police and Feds, all try to solve how Golgo kills his target. Playing the world’s greatest game of ‘Cat and Mouse’, Golgo 13 is a series you can’t miss.
