Video Game Hall of Fame 2018 Nominees Announced

Two of these titles may be unfamiliar to some – Spacewar! and King’s Quest.

Spacewar! is one of the oldest video games of all time. A relic from 1962, it predates every other game ever nominated by a couple decades. It was programmed for the PDP-1 computer, which few under 60 have ever heard of. This rig looks like a prop from the original Star Trek. Check it out:

At the end of the day though, only a few will make it in this year. We’ll have to wait and see who wins on Thursday May 3rd, when the announcement is made. Check out the official website of The Strong, National Museum of Play for more about this year’s nominees.
