The day is getting closer, my friends. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment recently posted a trailer for the English dub of Batman Ninja on their YouTube page. And it’s everything I hoped it would be.

The best information; however, is in the description section of the video.

The Warner Bros. YouTube account noted that we can expect for the digital version to release on April 18th, and for the Blu-ray Steelbook, Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, and the DVD to release a few weeks later on May 8th.

I’m definitely digging the vibe of the plot. Batman and a few of his allies, due in part to Gorilla Grodd’s time displacement machine, are sent back in time to feudal Japan. Once there, Batman’s high-tech machinery and arsenal become useless. Batman has to utilize whatever he can from the time period. He’ll have to use his intellect, his prowess as a detective, and, of course, his ninja skills to thwart the Joker’s and his cronies’ plans. Not to be forgotten, they’ll also need to find their way back to Gotham as well.

Does any of this explain why there’s a Mech in the trailer? No. But I’m still suffering from anime nosebleeds over this Batman/Mech mash-up.

But of course, the best news is the voice actors for the dub. We have:

Roger Craig Smith (Batman: Arkham Origins) as Batman.
Tony Hale as the Joker.
Grey Griffin as Catwoman.
Tara Strong (Batman: The Killing Joke) as Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
Fred Tatasciore as Gorilla Grodd and Deathstroke.
Yuri Lowenthal as Robin.
Adam Croasdell as Nightwing.
Alfred Will Friedle as Red Robin and Red Hood.
Tom Kenny as Penguin.
Eric Bauza as Two-Face.

This is shaping up to be a phenomenal movie. I love Roger Craig Smith as Batman. But I am a bit dubious about Tony Hale’s Joker. I like his Joker voice in the trailer, but I’m not sure I’ll love it for an entire movie.

Truly though, my only hope is that the streaming option and/or physical media option have a Subtitled option as well. God knows I’d love to watch both versions and compare the voices used for the characters.

April cannot be here soon enough.
