The latest Wolfenstein game is being regarded as one of the best first person shooters of 2017.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is set in an alternate timeline where the Axis won World War II and now the fight has come to America. You play as William Blazkowicz, a war veteran in America, where he now must battle the Nazi forces that invaded his native country.
This is the 8th game overall in the Wolfenstein series and many reviewers have called it a return to form. You are part of the resistance against the Nazi regime; this game does not shy away from the violence and gore of war.
These tips & tricks will give you all an edge against your enemies:
- Enigma Codes: You will collect little enigma codes whenever you take down a Nazi commander. Once you unlock the enigma machine about midway through the campaign, you will be able to cash all these codes in for various things. Mainly, it will unlock side missions for you where you get to hunt down other Nazi commanders. Make sure you loot all of the commanders you kill. Collecting these codes will also extend the amount of time between when your character is spotted and when the commander alarm is set off. Suffice to say, these little digits are very helpful and essential to getting everything out of the game.
- Stock Up Your Ammo: Your amount of ammunition will carry over between missions (which can be good or bad). In the breaks between story missions you can visit the local inventor Set at the shooting range. You can stock up on all the various forms of ammo, get extra hatchets, and charge up your laser weapon. You might not be someone that worries about bullets, but this can make a difference in a pinch.
- Put Up Your Dukes: There are a lot of hidden or subtle perks and buffs built into the game that you might not find naturally. One of the nice little bumps you can give yourself is a boost to your health regeneration. The more successful melee combat you take on the bigger the bump you will get. Basically, this means that you need to try and kill as many nazis as you can with stealthy melee attacks. Look for lone or isolated soldiers and take advantage of it. It saves ammunition and gives you a healthy little bump.
- Work Smarter, Not Harder: The Nazis in the armored suits and the big powered automatons might seem like the proper targets for your big guns, but they are even more easily taken down by being clever. The armored suits can be injured when you take out their fuel tanks and they will either explode or catch on fire; both good for you. The big robots can be disabled simply by removing their batteries. All of this will also level up the corresponding perks for your character.
