Live from Montreal: Viewster at Fantasia and Frontières

We’re at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal supporting the Frontières International Co-Production Market. Frontières is the first event of its kind to focus specifically on genre films. Since the next Viewster Online Film Fest’s theme is all about genre film, we’re here to talk to some of the best genre filmmakers.

July 24 was the first day of the market and we got to see some great project presentations from various countries during the Pitch Sessions. Everything from sci-fi, horror, supernatural, comedy, thriller, noir, western or a mix of the aforementioned was represented.

After the presentations, we hosted a “Picnic Lunch” for all the participants. (Okay, it was in a conference room but it was still festive.) It gave us a chance to share with the filmmakers what #VOFF is about and hopefully we’ll get to share their work with you during the next edition.

This is our first time sponsoring Frontières and it has become a fantastic partnership. “We’re incredibly pleased to begin this partnership with the Viewster Online Film Fest,” said Frontières Creative Director Stephanie Trépanier, “The genre film theme of their current edition was a perfect connection. We hope that this association grows in future editions of both festivals.”
