In an effort to better keep you more informed on theatrical anime releases, I’m going to start releasing an article at the end of every month alerting you to the next month’s showings.

Here’s your slate for September 2018 (in chronological order):

September 2018 Anime Theatrical Release SchedulePerfect Blue

SUBBED: September 6th
DUBBED: September 10th

The late Satoshi Kon’s masterpiece, Perfect Blue, will be in theaters for its 20th anniversary. I cannot implore you enough to go see this, and really any of Satoshi Kon’s works. However, I must give pause. Perfect Blue is a very disturbing psychological film. Know what you’re getting into before going to see it. Via Fathom Events:

Rising pop star Mima has quit singing to pursue a career as an actress and model, but her fans aren’t ready to see her go. Encouraged  by her managers, Mima takes on a recurring role on a popular TV show, when suddenly her handlers and collaborators begin turning up murdered. Harboring feelings of guilt and haunted by visions of her former self, Mima’s reality and fantasy meld into a frenzied paranoia. As her stalker closes in, in person and online, the threat he poses is more real tan even Mima knows.
