Two of these titles may be unfamiliar to some – Spacewar! and King’s Quest.
Spacewar! is one of the oldest video games of all time. A relic from 1962, it predates every other game ever nominated by a couple decades. It was programmed for the PDP-1 computer, which few under 60 have ever heard of. This rig looks like a prop from the original Star Trek. Check it out:
King’s Quest was released back in 1984 and helped created the adventure genre (which was huge in the 80s). It was published by Sierra Online, a famous studio located in this humble writer’s hometown. Here’s my childhood all over again:
