To love, or not to love? That’s the question of Boarding School Juliet, a new spin on Shakespeare’s tragic love story. The shonen manga becomes an anime this fall, and it looks like the students will be fighting like cats and dogs.

East vs. West

The prestigious Dahlia Academy stands on an isolated island, and houses two dorms for students from one of two countries. The Black Doggy House contains students from a country in the East, and the White Cats House is home to students from the West.

Oh, and these two countries are enemies. So, you know. Good decisions all around.

Romio is from the Black Doggy House. Juliet is from the White Cats House. And they fall in love. While we’re pretty convinced we know what comes next, the show advertises itself as a “school love comedy.” So while the first trailer looks pretty dramatic, we might be in for a surprise.

A Star-Studded Cast

The cast of the series is already pretty impressive… and it’s growing daily! The website announces a new voice actor every other day or so, ensuring that we’re never short of awesome news.

Leading the cast is Ai Kayano (Rin Toyama of New Game!) as the Juliet of the title. Her Romio is Yuki Ono (Josuke Higashita in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable). That’s already an awesome anime power couple, but their classmates are just as impressive!

As of the time of this writing, the show also features Ayane Sakura (Ochaco in My Hero Academia), Yu Shimamura (Annie Leonhart in Attack on Titan), Hiroshi Kamiya (Levi in Attack on Titan), Tomokazu Sugita (Kyon in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), and more announced every week! Best part, some of the cast members are even fans of the manga already.

Boarding School Juliet kicks off on Amazon Prime this October. Will you be watching?
